CBIZ works in conjunction with its clients to accurately register inpatient admissions, emergency department visits, and private referred patients, upgrade accounts, obtain insurance cards, obtain identification cards, obtain signed consent forms, and verify insurance benefits as well as all other aspects of the patient registration process. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the processing of paperwork such as upgrading charts, IM's and delivery of observation packets.
  • Must request and collect co-payments/deductibles at the time of registration.
  • Maintain and monitor bed board while working & communicating with nursing units. 
  • Maintain expiration log. 
  • Navigating electronic health records.
  • All other tasks associated with the Patient Access Department as assigned by Manager.

Requirements:

  • Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent education required. 
  • Prior experience with hospital registration & knowledge of insurance benefits necessary.
  • Excellent customer service skills necessary. 
  • Must be able to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Must have good communication skills and the ability to multi-task. 
  • Good organization and time management skills are needed. 
  • Must be bi-lingual. 
  • Good communication skills, detail oriented, multi-tasking, telephone experience, computer, fax, copiers, and general office equipment.  
  • Medical terminology preferred.
  • Must be flexible in work schedules and be able to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
  • Dependability is essential.
